Vanessa Hawes – Professional CV Site

I wrote this nice clean site in CSS and PHP, using WordPress as the backend. It is intended as a clear and attractive online CV, with the ability to dynamically update the content and present posts in a highly compact summary format.

Edit: Vanessa has now rebuilt this site for herself in Drupal (mostly from this book), and it looks great.

TootingBizarre.org

I have complete the first public beta of the new Tooting Bizarre netlabel site. The idea is to provide a sharp looking site on which to collect the numerous free-to-download releases of Tooting bands, and hopefully other cool London bands too, in time.

TootingBizarre.org

It was written from scratch in PHP & MySQL (a first for me), and I also done the layout and graphics. I will continue to improve the site, once I get some feedback from the peoples.

50ftpanda.com

I have updated the site for my brother’s excellent two-piece 50ft Panda, whose album artwork I designed last year. It was adapted from an existing wordpress theme, and offers a simple portal to more dynamic sites, such as the myspace and facebook, so the guys in the band don’t have to maintain the site in addition to those other social networking sites.

Thumpermonkey.com

I hard coded a totally fresh site for my band Thumpermonkey Lives! The site was built in a text editor in HTML, using tables and CSS. The structure was “borrowed” from Pro-Rock.com.

Thumpermonkey.com

UPDATE (Nov 07) – Just added WordPress managed news content to the site, so it’s much easier to keep the front page up to date as new stuff happens. Very pleased.

Crikeymiles.com

The previous site for Crikeymiles.com was my first experiment with CSS, and I was pleased with the cleaniness and clarity of the layout.

Crikeymiles.com [Old Site]

In the end, this “blog” format has proven much more dynamic and appropriate for my personal site, but I have left the old site up as an example of my work.

You can see the old site here.
